Every year in late May I jump on my bike for Steve's Ride for the Red Cross. I travel from Vero Beach to Boca Raton over a week, stopping in a different city each night. I broadcast the weather and interview local volunteers. The route is 130 miles. Here's the weeklong breakdown.

Day 1  Vero Beach to Ft. Pierce

Day 2 Ft. Pierce to Port St. Lucie

Day 3 Port St. Lucie to Hobe Sound

Day 4 Hobe Sound to West Palm

Day 5 West Palm to Boca Raton

Other Remotes

Without a doubt I have the best time on remotes. Here's a live broadcast from the  Gardens Mall in December, getting the kids in the holiday spirit. 25 tons of snow were trucked into the front entrance. More than a few snowball fights! You should know the temperature was 76F!! The snowflakes were bubble machines, and the snow was trucked in from an ice company. It lasted 20 minutes.

Honda Classic Golf Tournament

Who says my job isn't tough! How about doing the weather at a PGA golf tournament. This is Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens. Live broadcasts through the week. Always fun, and always a few unexpected moments.

National Hurricane Conference

One of the great benefits is the opportunity to attend weather conferences. One of the best is the National Hurricane Conference. We were preparing our annual hurricane special, so it's mandatory to get an interview with Max Mayfield, the Director of the Hurricane Center in Miami.

Weather Legends

Two meteorologists have shaped my television career. Peter Coade is on the left, working for ATV in Nova Scotia. He taught me to play close attention to detail, and to never just 'phone in' the forecast. On the right Harvey Leonard at ABC in Boston. Lots of energy, personality and great accuracy, this photo was taken at the Bahamas Weather Conference.
