Becoming a Meteorologist

Anyone who has a curiousity about the weather, and enjoys Science, should consider a career in Meteorology. Most meteorologists work for the Weather Service, private weather companies, or on televsion stations. You'd better enjoy Math and Physics, and have a solid computer background.
There are several options at the college and university level. If you're interested in pursuing a tv career, consider taking the two year Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State. Better yet, take a four year program in Meteorology at one of the schools listed below. In Canada, you also have the option of taking an undergraduate Science degree, then taking the graduate program in Meteorology. That's what I did.
